Don't get caught out!
Public Buildings, theatres, licensed and commercial premises are required to use flame resistant fabrics, linings and trimmings for use in their curtains. The Licensing Authority requires certification of this. There is no such requirement for domestic curtaining.
The relevant British Standard is: BS 5867 : Part 2: 1980 (1993)
